Originally from Fort Worth, Texas, Davis found herself a freshman at OU double majoring in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. Three years and three internships later, her need to create consumed her, and she left the engineering program and landed in the School of Art. Since graduating, Davis has established herself as an award-winning filmmaker.
MAID OF DISHONOR a feature she co-wrote was a 2016 Nicholls Fellowship Quarter-Finalist. Also in 2016, LIGHT IN DARK PLACES a short script placed in the Austin Film Festival Screenplay Competition, which in 2018, Davis shot. The film hit the circuit in 2019 and won Best Short Film at Clexacon Film Festival. In most recent news, Davis was selected as a 2019 BAVC Media Maker Fellow with her current project in development, BLACK BARBIE: A DOCUMENTARY.
When Davis is not writing or directing, she can be found Line Producing films, commercials, and branded content. Clients include: Mattel, Nike, Visa, Uber, Court Yard Marriott, Norwegian Air, Barefoot Wine, Chevy… to name a few.
As a Line Producer, Davis has built a skill set that is complimentary to her skill set as a writer/director. With her experience, she’s able to not only communicate her creative vision to the crew, but also has extensive knowledge of the flow of production in regard to scheduling, casting, hiring of crew, child labor laws, permitting, budgeting, location and tech scouting.
Currently, Davis resides in LA where she’s on the board of the Alliance of Women Directors and Cinefemme.
